Born in a rather conservative area of Malakand Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, I, Kausar Iqbal discovered a love for art at a very young age.

After acquiring a degree in Miniature Painting from NCA, I went on to exhibiting my work across Pakistan and internationally.

I have has also worked in collaboration with several artists. Being a sensitive and observant artist, I have tried to create art that represents the cultural mechanism of the society. My work is a continuous comment on the situations around us, whether it be related to child labor, the education system, politics, religious affairs or anything that our media highlights. The passion of conveying my feelings about certain issues through my practice is a continuous struggle of developing new ideas, exploring new surfaces and mediums while keeping audiences engaged and giving them a realistic visualization of the truth. My work comments on my traditional background and my roots, featuring the practice of arms and ammunition and its negative impacts. My current practice includes the amalgamation of all of my previous works, how these social issues overlap with one another, the way they overshadow each other. And at the same time it highlights the role of the media in exaggerating the social scenarios around us.
